HKMU’s School of Nursing and Health Studies, funded by the Jockey Club, has launched the “BaMa Chill Club” to provide depression screening and support for pregnant women and their families. This project offers a comprehensive suite of mental health services, including personalized counseling, training for caregivers, and awareness workshops, benefiting nearly 13,000 people. Applications include promoting perinatal mental health, supporting new mothers, and training healthcare professionals. Data on health and social needs will be gathered using an electronic application, guiding tailored interventions for families. The project seeks to set a foundation for government-supported mental health protocols for pregnancy.
