Sustainably Extract Struvite Fertiliser from Sewage
A System for Separation and Recycling Struvite from Sewage
Tags: National Taiwan University, Taiwan, Industrial Automation & Manufacturing, Energy & Environment
This technology offers a novel approach to phosphorus recovery by recycling struvite from urine using an electrochemical precipitation method with magnesium alloy tailings. It separates electrode corrosive substances and struvite simultaneously, enhancing struvite purity and simplifying the process. The device consists of interconnected electrode and collection tanks, facilitating automatic control and using magnesium alloy waste as a resource. It has significant applications in sustainable agriculture by providing a high-purity struvite fertilizer source. This innovation addresses the urgent need for alternative phosphate resources as global phosphate reserves dwindle.
