Tags: CSIR Labs, India, Energy & Environment, Consumer Goods & Services
CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute [CSIR-CMERI]: This invention presents a solar photovoltaic (PV) energy-based electric cooking system designed to operate directly with 48-52V DC, producing an output of 1000-1200 W without needing an inverter or converter. The system can reach temperatures up to 650°C, sufficient for all cooking types, and features a well-insulated cook stove that minimizes heat loss. The system maximizes power from PV panels using a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) charge controller. Applications include sustainable, energy-efficient cooking solutions for households, reducing reliance on traditional energy sources.
