Simple Blood Test to Detect Non-Small Lung Cancer Early
Biomarker Panel For Early Detection Of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Tags: National University of Singapore, Singapore, Healthcare & Lifesciences
This novel biomarker panel provides a highly sensitive and specific blood-based diagnostic method for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC), significantly reducing false positives in lung cancer screening. It leverages protein biomarkers from exosomes, offering 97% sensitivity for early-stage NSCLC and 98% specificity across all stages. This minimally invasive test can dramatically enhance early detection, improve diagnosis accuracy, and minimize unnecessary procedures. It's particularly beneficial for high-risk individuals and for complementing CT scans, thus facilitating early intervention and personalized treatment plans.
