Scalable On-Chain Blockchain Protocol for Secure Computation
Maximising Computation in Blockchains
Tags: IIT Bombay, India, Computing Technology
This research introduces an innovative protocol that scales computation on Proof-of-Work (PoW) blockchains, allowing computation-intensive transactions (CIT) to execute without compromising security. A prototype built atop Ethereum demonstrates enhanced scalability by enabling delayed validation of transactions in a block, a feature adjustable via system parameters. The approach mitigates issues such as the Verifier’s Dilemma and ensures security equivalent to Nakamoto consensus in synchronous networks. Applications include integration of computation-heavy use cases like AI/ML and privacy-preserving cryptography on blockchains. The technology is under security analysis and has a patent filed.
