Tags: City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, Transportation & Automotive, Computing Technology
This invention introduces a method to protect autonomous vehicles (AVs) from cyber attacks by using mirrored technology in the cloud. It utilizes a duplicate sensor set in the vehicle and a mirrored processing component that runs parallel AI-enabled motion planning. This setup allows for real-time comparison and detection of discrepancies, ensuring any attack does not compromise vehicle integrity. The technology enables the AV to safely stop and park in case of a cyber attack or failure, significantly enhancing connected autonomous vehicle (CAV) reliability and security. Applications include cyber attack detection and malfunction identification in critical vehicle systems.
