This invention is a low-cost, ultraportable, microfluidic colorimetric device designed for point-of-care applications to quantify and monitor environmental and biological analytes. It features a plug-and-play system for multiplexed detection and an integrated microfluidic chip for enhanced, highly repeatable colorimetric detection. Applications include soil and water parameter quantification and biological chromophore analysis, making it suitable for soil testing and bioanalysis kits. Developed by researchers at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad, the device has been validated for detecting phosphate and nitrite using standard spectrophotometry.
