Non-Invasive Immune Diagnostic for Early CAD Detection
Immune Diagnostic for Coronary Artery Disease
Tags: The University of Sydney, Australia, Healthcare & Lifesciences
Researchers have developed a novel immune signature for early detection of coronary artery disease (CAD) using mass cytometry. This non-invasive diagnostic tool analyzes specific blood immune cell subtypes to differentiate between patients with and without CAD, offering improved prediction accuracy, especially in individuals over 55 years old. The technology eliminates the risks of radiation and invasive procedures associated with current diagnostic methods, enabling timely interventions. Applications include clinical diagnostics, integration into cardiovascular risk assessments, and advancing personalized treatment strategies. This invention is supported by a PCT patent application (PCT/AU2023/050886) and holds potential for transforming CAD detection and management.
