Biochar, Manufacturing Method Thereof and Use Thereof
Tags: National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, Energy & Environment
This technology provides a method for producing biochar from biomass through oxidation and heat treatment in an oxygen-limited environment. The process improves the biomass’s carbon content and calorific value, making the resulting biochar an efficient fuel. Biochar is lightweight, hydrophobic, and has low water content, making it easy to store and transport. Applications include using biochar as a fuel alternative to coal, offering better storage stability and reduced transportation costs. The method enhances biomass utilization for energy generation.
