Researchers at IIT Delhi have developed a novel nanoformulation called Immunosomes, combining a CD40 agonist antibody with the small molecule inhibitor RRX-001, to treat glioblastoma. In mice, this treatment eradicated tumors and generated a long-lasting immune response, preventing tumor recurrence upon re-challenge. This approach aims to enhance treatment efficacy and reduce toxicity associated with CD40 agonist antibodies, offering new hope for glioblastoma patients. Applications include improved outcomes and long-term protection against brain tumors. These promising results motivate further research and clinical trials in humans.
